TruForm Whirling Inserts
Swiss -Type CNC Machine Custom Profile Inserts

GenSwiss® TruForm triple edge inserts are made to meet the growing demand for maximum precision in Thread Whirling. Custom designed and manufactured to fit the most common three-sided insert whirling holders for all whirling attachments and Swiss-CNC Machines. Our TruForm inserts enable rapid production of long threads on Swiss type machines with increased support and rigidity due to cutting threads close to the guide bushing.
Typical applications are medical bone screws, dental implants, worm gears and semiconductor parts.
COATINGS
ThermoGuard and Aegis coatings provide longer up-time, thereby enabling large metal removal rates ideal for working with aggressive custom thread forms.
BEST-CASE USES
Thread whirling is a precision machining process widely used in the medical industry for creating detailed bone screws and orthopedic implants due to its high-quality finishes and accuracy. It's also prevalent in aerospace and automotive sectors for producing durable and precise threads on critical components. The method is particularly beneficial for machining complex profiles and hard materials, such as titanium and stainless steel, making it a preferred technique for small lot production of custom threads. Moreover, thread whirling excels in manufacturing long and slender components, ensuring minimal deflection and vibration, which is crucial for maintaining the integrity of high aspect ratio parts.
Tested and proven to outperform the competition. TruForm Thread Whirling Inserts offer sharper lead angles matched with GenSwiss' high precision grind standards thereby resulting in burr-free threads, increased tool life, and jewelry-like surface finish.
Make no mistake, aggressive screw threads are going to continue to be a staple in the medical orthopedic industry and there is no better way of producing them reliably with the speed, level of finish and quality control that the whirling process provides. Upgrading to whirling for more basic threads such as UNC/UNF threads on long parts, a cost savings can also be realized especially when working with materials that produce stringy ductile chips or applications that require segmenting the thread to prevent dropping out of the guide bushing. By making sure your processes are using the leading-edge tooling technology available your operation will be able to stay competitive and ahead of the curve for years to come.
